In 133 venous patient samples spanning haematocrit 18.8-55.0%, the Capitainer-B microfluidic DBS device yielded caffeine and paraxanthine concentrations that were not biased by haematocrit, unlike partial-punch DBS, and performance was unaffected by the volume of blood applied. This supports accurate decentralised blood microsampling without haematocrit correction.
