Self-collected vaginal swabs detected more chlamydia and gonorrhoeae infections than first-void urine across all four assays, with chlamydia sensitivities of 84.6-98.1% on swabs versus 75.5-88.7% on urine. This indicates vaginal swabs are the more sensitive specimen for decentralised STI screening in women.
