Can HPV Test on Random Urine Replace Self-HPV Test on Vaginal Self-Samples or Clinician-Collected Cervical Samples?
Shih et al.
The finding, in our words
In patients with abnormal Pap smears, HPV testing on random urine achieved about 60% sensitivity compared with clinician-collected cervical samples after adjusting the detection cutoff, and about 50% sensitivity for CIN2+; urine-based HPV testing requires further development to match the performance of clinician-collected samples.
