Association of Amelogenin with High Caries Experience in Indian Children

The study identified a mutation in the amelogenin gene from saliva samples collected using self-collection kits, which showed a statistically significant correlation with high caries experience in children. These results suggest that non-invasive genetic screening from saliva could facilitate early risk assessment for dental caries.

    This study demonstrated that a fully remote genome sequencing study using self-collected dried blood spots and buccal swabs is feasible for individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome, with all participants completing the study and reporting the process was easy despite being lengthy.
