Implementation and Evaluation of a Home-Based Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Monitoring Option: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial
Cannon et al.
The finding, in our words
Preliminary data from the HOT4PrEP trial show 67% of participants offered home-based PrEP monitoring chose to self-collect blood and STI samples at home, and 82% of these successfully returned kits. This demonstrates feasibility and acceptability of decentralised microsampling for HIV prevention, which may improve PrEP retention and expand clinical capacity.
