Examining unmet needs: a cross-sectional study exploring knowledge, attitudes and sexually transmitted infection screening preferences among persons who inject drugs in Camden, New Jersey
Roth et al.
The finding, in our words
Among 116 persons who inject drugs, site-specific specimen collection preferences aligned closely with reported sexual risk behaviours. The study found high awareness of STI transmission, yet outreach through syringe exchange programmes paired with education on site-specific screening could improve case finding in this population.
