Retrospective Analysis of Ugandan Men with Urethritis Reveals Mycoplasma genitalium and Associated Macrolide Resistance
Melendez et al.
The finding, in our words
Self-collected urine or penile-meatal swabs identified Mycoplasma genitalium in 12.8% of Ugandan men with urethritis, with macrolide resistance in 10.7% of positive cases. This supports decentralised STI screening in settings where clinic-based collection is limited.
