Multi-anatomical site prevalence of Mycoplasma genitalium infection, resistance and association with coinfections: a prospective study in MSM with HIV
Wong et al.
The finding, in our words
In MSM with HIV, Mycoplasma genitalium infection was common across anatomical sites, especially rectal, and resistance-associated mutations were frequent, limiting azithromycin efficacy while moxifloxacin or minocycline achieved satisfactory cure rates; this supports targeted testing and resistance-guided therapy in decentralised STI care.
