Feasibility study for a fully decentralized clinical trial in participants with functional constipation symptoms

A fully remote, randomised pilot trial of 30 people with functional constipation demonstrated geographic reach with 27% residing outside metropolitan areas. Lactobacillus supplementation increased weekly bowel movements by 0.80 and reduced defecation time by 3.94 hours versus vitamin C alone, but 33% of mobile diary entries were not completed as scheduled, highlighting the need for real-time data quality monitoring in decentralised trials.
