Examining the Association Between DCT Solutions Use and Participant Diversity in Clinical Trials
Smith & Getz
The finding, in our words
This retrospective analysis found that trials using local labs had a lower percentage of white participants, while those using virtual visits had a lower percentage of Black participants. Wearables showed no significant demographic impact. These findings demonstrate that different decentralised trial components can have varying effects on participant diversity, which must be considered when designing equitable diagnostic studies.
